Teaching and Learning

The Gospel values of our faith community are central to learning and teaching at Star of the Sea Catholic College. Within these values we aim to foster self esteem, self confidence and respect for the gifts and needs of the individual, along with an awareness of the unique contribution each can make to the College community.

We aim to provide a high quality, balanced education in which all students can reach their full spiritual, academic and potential as individuals.

Star of the Sea Catholic College has a strong Kinder to 10 outlook and a cohesive operation across the two campus areas which are divided by William Street.  We have a clearly established structure, with Kindergarten to Year Six  situated on the north campus and Years 7-10 and specialist facilities on the southern campus.

Learning and Teaching programmes throughout our College are based on the Australian Curriculum, which has the aim of developing students with sound capabilities in literacy, numeracy, critical and creative thinking, information and communication technology, personal and social development and ethical and intercultural understanding.  All students participate in a Religious Education programme based on the Archdiocesan Good News for Living Framework.
