Trades and Training

 

Star of the Sea Catholic College conducts Trade Training in Hospitality and Woodwork for interested Year 9 and Year 10 students. Both courses are based within the school complex with some components of the Hospitality training delivered in Launceston (accessed by bus supplied by the college). Certification is under the auspices of Tas TAFE as RTO at present for these courses.

 

SIT10213 Certificate I Hospitality

The gain the full Certificate I qualification you are required to gain competency in 6 units. During your training you will be offered the units listed below and will receive a statement of attainment once completed:
•    SITXFSA101 – Use hygienic practices for food safety (Core)
•    SITHCCC102 – Prepare simple dishes (elective)
•    SITHCCC103 - Prepare sandwiches  (elective)
•    SITHKOP101 – Clean kitchen premises and equipment (elective)

To gain these units, a student must attain competence and to be awarded a ‘statement of attainment’ towards the full Certificate
